She’s a model, poet, and Vogue cover girl (well, Vogue Enfants). Oh, and she’s only 10-years-old. We’ve seen French tot Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau before, but the illustrious Knightcat recently reminded us of her epic cuteness. So after perusing the web for more on this international fashion ingénue, we discovered that the kid has an entire Tumblr blog dedicated to her, filled with thousands of candid and editorial shots from her decade-long existence.
While we understand Blondeau’s emerging popularity (just look at those big blue eyes), our hope is that fashion brands will continue to work with her as organically as possible, rather than attempt to sensationalize her youth. For instance, dressing her (or any young model) in adult clothing and makeup like this is just too much.
With Elle Fanning (Marc Jacobs) and Hailee Steinfeld (Miu Miu) landing high-fashion campaigns, and LOVE releasing new covers that feature Steinfeld and Chloe Moretz “pretty crying,” the fashion world is definitely having a field day with youth culture – for better or for worse.
