After her amazing performance at the O2, her new song va va voom is the new-iest addition to my Ipod. I first heard this on Allen Cara’s Chatty Man, the well none gay comic interviews Nicki Minaj about her up and coming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and on other topics of conversation such as the close up picture of Justin Bieber in their new song together Beauty and A Beat.
The video is a Minaj-style complete with the elaborate, figure-hugging costumes and the different colored wigs the rapper is known for. This time though, she plays a sweet and innocent damsel in distress waiting for her prince charming to awaken her with a tender kiss.
Towards the end of the video, Minaj is shown turning to the dark side of magic and becoming the evil step mom who is trying to seduce the prince charming. Besides the detailed costumes and fairytale looks seen on the clip, “Va Va Voom” has the ever so fantasy images of unicorns frolicking through water.
The Hype Williams-directed video was shot in Los Angeles and is already spreading like wildfire online and is expected to make more noise for Minaj and for the release of her album and DVD, “Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up” on November 19. The track was written by Minaj and features Nashville rapper Future.
