Event: Surrey November to Remember, Remember

Student life can often be dull, but at this time of year the bright lights are in the sky not the helicopter but the fireworks.  


As the count down begins to the winter festivals what are peoples’ opinions on youths behave this time of the year?


Every year the scene of flashing bolts of light bring crowds of people out in their million. Just last year, the new years display in the Capital of London, England at Big Ben had 12,500 fireworks on display to bring everyone into the new year. With the Winter celebrations on our door step bellow are just some of the events on offer in Farnham for the celebrations of Halloween, Bonfire Night and more.


Saturday October 26

  • Alfold Bonfire and Fireworks display will be held starting at 6.45pm. There will be the usual torchlight processions starting from The Crown and Three Compasses at 6.45pm and later a BBQ at Alfold Sports Pavilion. Torches and neon’s will be on sale from 6.15pm.
  • Chobham Rubgy Club. Gates open at 6pm with the fireworks starting at 8pm. Advance tickets priced at £4 for adults (14+) and £2 for children are available at Chaps Barbers of Chobham on Chertsey Road and at www.chobham-rugby.co.uk .
  • Ripley Village Green. There will be an extensive funfair, food stalls and bar with live music. Before the display at 8pm, entrants for a fancy dress and float competition will be judged and a torchlight procession led by a band will descend onto the green at 7.10pm.

Sunday October 27

  • Farncombe’s No Bangs Fireworks and Halloween party at Broadwater Sports Club, Guildford Road. Fun and food available from 4pm, fancy dress and pumpkin carving judging at 5.15pm and the fireworks display will kick off at 5.30pm. Entry donation is £5 per family.

Friday November 1

  • Kingston’s bonfire event will feature children’s fun fair rides, and the family fireworks will begin at 8pm. The gates for the Kingsmeadow Athletics ground will open at 6.30pm and tickets are priced at £6 for adults and £4 for children.
  • Horley Cricket Club is hosting a fireworks display from 6pm. Discounted advance tickets can be bought from the club or from Homepride Stores, in Horley Row, Hi Q Tyres, in Brighton Road, and Mitchells Building Centre, in Station Road.
  • Spelthorne School PTA presents ‘Fantastic Fireworks’, School Playing Fields, Feltham Hill Road, Ashford. Professional firework display open to general public. Food, refreshments and gifts available on night. Tickets £5 on gate, infants under-two free of charge. Gates open 6.30pm for 7.30 start.
