“Jiggle and jog for Christmas”

This christmas family fun run, in Surrey  helping raise money for the children’s charity “Christopher’s Smile charity”, the charity that this supporting this year was set up by parents of Christopher who suffer with medulloblastoma who passed away in October 2008.The aim is to raise money to fund development of new biological drugs to treat medulloblastoma and other childhood cancers without devastating side effects.

Christopher Smiles Charity established five years ago has succeeded in achieving raising funds in research for a two-year  pre-clinical project testing novel agents. During the Olympics prelude, Christopher smiles was given a huge boost in support by being given the pleasure of bearing one of the torches running along side:

The torch runner was Kevin; the father of Christopher and was a spokesmen for the charity who had an impromptu interview with Sarah Gorrall from BBC Radio Surrey about the organisation early before the run was to begin. Kevin’s torch-bearer story, was about Christopher and Christopher’s Smile charity. Before running around Guildford streets; Austin Playfoot, told his story of carrying the torch in 1948 and how he had been involved in athletics since, he also shared empathy for Kevin’s circumstance when he imparted the information of losing his only daughter to Leukaemia 17 years ago. The run last year undoubtably was filled with many emotional tales and whores, but consecutively they come together to create a jovial event to that spread the word of these illness’ and charities.

Start: 9am

Get into the Christmas spirit as this charity race Jingle Jog welcomes festive families in fancy dress (not provided) to run a seasonal 5K romp around Frimley Green to the tune of 1000 jingle bells (provided) at 9am on Sunday 15 December 2013. This multi-terrain course of path, grass, towpath and track is predominantly flat and fast. After the race all finishers will receive a memento and free festive cheer at Pistachios on the Park. Jingle Jog is organised to raise funds in support of Christopher’s Smile charity.

Race Entry:

Non-affiliated runners £14

Affiliated runners £12

Children under 16 yrs old  £8

Race entrants have the optional opportunity to top up their race entry fee with a charitable donation in support of Christopher’s Smile.

** NEW RACE START ** Park your vehicle at Frimley Lodge Park, pick up your race pack and make your way to the race START on Frimley Green. Please allow 10 minutes to walk to the race START and “Gather on the Green”

IMPORTANT: There is no race parking and limited toilet facilities at Frimley Green
